2. Notice at collection: what we collect and why
We collect only the information needed to run the Website, understand how it is used and answer you. The table below lists the categories of personal information we collect, where it comes from, why we use it and how long we keep it.
| Category (CCPA) | Examples | Source | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | IP address; your name and email address if you write to us | Your device; you | Operate and secure the Website, prevent abuse, evaluate and answer your business inquiry, prepare proposals and manage our business relationship | Visit records: 12 months, then deleted automatically. | Inferences | Interests inferred by Google for personalized advertising | Google advertising cookies (only if you accept) | Personalized advertising and campaign measurement | Set by Google; see our Cookie Policy |
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA (such as government identification numbers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation or health data), and we do not use personal information to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
3. How we use personal information
- To provide, maintain and protect the Website, including detecting and preventing security incidents, fraud and abuse.
- To understand how visitors use the Website and improve it (analytics), only if you accept analytics cookies.
- To measure and personalize advertising, only if you accept advertising cookies.
- To evaluate and answer your business inquiry, prepare proposals and manage our business relationship when you contact us.
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
4. Cookies, Google Tag Manager and visit records
When you visit the Website, our server records your IP address, browser (user agent), the page you request and your cookie choice in our database. We use these records for security and basic statistics and delete them after 12 months.
The Website uses Google Tag Manager, which loads Google services such as Google Analytics and Google advertising tools. Analytics and advertising storage is denied by default and is only enabled if you click “Accept all” in our cookie banner. If you click “Reject all”, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, those cookies are not used for analytics or advertising. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
5. How we disclose personal information
We disclose personal information only to the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers that host the Website, store our database and provide our email services, under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing services to us (identifiers and internet activity).
- Google LLC, through Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google advertising tools, only if you accept the corresponding cookies (identifiers, internet activity and inferences).
- Authorities, courts or other parties when required by law, legal process or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others.
- A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this Privacy Policy.
6. Sale and sharing of personal information
We do not sell personal information for money. However, if you click “Accept all”, Google advertising cookies may be used for cross-context behavioral advertising, which the CCPA considers “sharing” and may consider a “sale”. In the preceding 12 months, this may have applied to identifiers, internet activity and inferences disclosed to Google, only for visitors who accepted advertising cookies.
Your right to opt out: you can opt out at any time by clicking “Reject all” in our cookie banner (you can show it again from our Cookie Policy) or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
7. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it;
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (see section 6);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it, so this right does not currently apply);
- Not be discriminated or retaliated against for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights: email us at sales@awesomestuffinc.com with the subject “California Privacy Request”. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days; if we need more time (up to another 45 days), we will tell you why. To protect you, we will verify your request by matching the information you provide with the information we hold; for visit records this may include the approximate date and time of your visit and your IP address. You may use an authorized agent, who must provide your signed permission, and we may ask you to verify your identity directly. We honor these requests from California residents whether or not the CCPA’s applicability thresholds are met.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Global Privacy Control (GPC): if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information for that browser: analytics and advertising storage stays denied, the cookie banner is not shown and your choice is saved as “rejected”. You can check whether we detected your signal on our Cookie Policy page.
Do Not Track (DNT): there is no common industry standard for responding to DNT browser signals, so the Website does not change its behavior in response to them. In any case, analytics and advertising cookies are only used if you click “Accept all”.
Tracking by third parties: if you accept analytics or advertising cookies, Google may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites. If you reject them, we do not allow third parties to do so through the Website.
9. California “Shine the Light”
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents may ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
10. Children
The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We protect personal information with reasonable safeguards appropriate to its nature, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to our database and credentials stored outside the public website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Visitors outside California
The Website is operated from California, United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries, which may have data protection laws different from those of your country.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we will also make that clear on the Website before they take effect.
14. Contact
For any question about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, contact us at sales@awesomestuffinc.com or by mail at the address in section 1.
